Since even before receiving a B.A. degree in fine arts from San Francisco State University, I have been celebrating art: making it, studying it, loving all things art. I had some minor success along the way and just kept learning and practicing.
Then, this past year I suffered a number of tragedies. These life events suddenly showed up uninvited in my art when, for the first time, I leaped from craft to painting. My paintings began with a magically burst of color and form and it continues to metamorphose into something powerful and moving to me. People began noticing. Hugo Rivera offered me a spot in his gallery. My pictures began selling. I am transformed with each new painting.
