ART4HEALTH EXHIBIT

The Medical Center at CSU Fullerton is holding the reception for the new ART4HEALTH exhibit on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, 3-6pm.

SCA member JANET INEZ ADAMS has five of her wood series art works that are juried into this year-long show.

Artist’s Statement: I am searching for the sacred in everyday, and finding it with the help of color and shape.

Abstract painting about the stress on the large trees of the earth caused by climate change.
As part of a group show at the newest art gallery in Huntington Beach, the Rainwater Gallery, hosts an opening on Thursday evening, July 16, 6 – 9 pm. Located at 508 Main St., the gallery has a large beautiful space showing many art styles from local artists. This opening is also coordinated with the Artwalk Night of Huntington Beach, with many other participating artists, and with the Huntington Beach Art Center, showing the art of 25 members of their Artist’s Council. Live music and refreshments provided.

CONTRASTS an exhibition of new work by two Southern California artists will be presented at 57 UNDERGROUND, a non-profit contemporary art gallery located downstairs at the dA Center for the Arts,  252-D South Main Street, Pomona, from April 2 to April 25, 2015. Desiree Engel will show new ceramic sculptures and Jim Dahl will exhibit paintings. The artists will be present during public receptions onSaturdays, April 11 & 25, from 6-9pm. The receptions are free of charge. Regular gallery hours are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 12-4pm. Clay Exhibit To Brings Renowned Artists to Orange Coast College

Orange Coast College: Frank M. Doyle Art Pavilion (access from Merrimac Way), 2701 Fairview Rd., Costa Mesa, CA. 92626

OCC is set to host its second Pedagogic Clay 2 Exhibit, opening on Jan. 28 and running thought Feb. 26, 2015. The month-long exhibition features work from 60 ceramic artists and instructors in the Southern California area ( Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside counties). There are notable works by Ralph Baccera, Adrian Saxe, Peter Shire, Phyllis Green, Joe Soldate, Gifford Myers, Nobo Nishigawara, David Kiddie, Laura Haight, among others. OCC ceramics professor Kevin A. Myers has curated the exhibit. The exhibition is free and open to the public.

Individual works of art will be displayed in the Frank M. Doyle Art Pavilion. Gallery hours are;  Mon, Tues, Thurs 12noon-6pm and Wed. 12noon-8pm. There is paid visitor and metered parking near lot D. Anyone with an interest in ceramics is encouraged to attend. “This is a time when all of this is going to be under one roof and it really would be in a student’s best interest to see the trajectory that contemporary ceramics has taken,” said Myers. “The artists that have been invited to be in this exhibition are truly exceptional.”
