Minutes of Southern California Artists (SCA) Membership Meeting

Call to Order:
The regular bimonthly meeting of SCA was called to order at 3:30PM by outgoing SCA President Janet Adams.
Janet Adams, Thom Wright, Roger Gordon, Sharon Krump, Ron Reekers, Celene Cecena, Marilou Hogeboom, Ron Howlett, Randall Holbrook, Karen Feuer-Schwager, Janet Mackaig, Desiree Engel
Current balance $1607.00
After much discussion concerning the leadership issues of SCA, Karen Feuer-Schwager suggested a shared president concept. This idea was favorably received by the membership and the motion was made to proceed with this concept. These are the results for the primary board positions for 2013:
President: Rotating President every 3 months*
First: Ron Reekers - February March April
Second: Roger Gordon – May June July
Third: Karen Ferer-Schwager - August September October Fourth: Randall Holbrook – November December and January 2014.
* Each President will carry on current plans that have been approved by the membership and during their term, further shape the direction of SCA with their vision, ideas and direction that is in keeping with our common goals. They will arrange the meeting(s) and choose a recorder.
Additional Volunteer Positions for 2013:
Desiree Engel will be in a group show at Gallery 57 this fall.
Karen Feuer-Schwager will be collaborating with a choreographer/ dancer in Boulder Colorado to do set design that will incorporate her current work. February 15 - 17 at the Dairy Art Center.
Also, Karen will be a part of the annual Laguna Beach auction.
Ron Reekers will continue his monthly art critique session in the New Year. Thom Wright has been included in the Centered on the Center Exhibit currently running at the Huntington Beach Art Center
Janet Adams will be having a show at the Environmental Nature Center, Newport Beach. Also Janet has been asked to participate as workshop leader for STIGMA – an event organized by Janice DeLoof. Janet will exhibit at OCCCA this summer for the STIGMA show.
Janet Mackaig will be a part of an exhibition at Cal State Northridge honoring past students of Leonard Edmonson. See http://www.csun.edu/artgalleries/exhibitionsched.html
San Juan Capistrano Outdoor Art Fair begins in March. Information will be posted on the SCA Home Page this spring.
Imagination Celebration sponsored by ARTS OC has asked SCA to participate in the annual fair offering creative experiences to children and families. The date is Sunday, April 28th from 10 to 3pm at Birch Park in Santa Ana. Contact Janet email@example.com for volunteer information.
Our Exhibition Coordinator, Karen Feuer-Schwager, has secured September - November at the Wells-Fargo CAP Gallery for our annual member's show.
The SCA Artists Book is presented at all SCA community events. It contains one current photo of each artist’s work, and the title, size, media, and year completed. Please send a jpeg image firstname.lastname@example.org or a photo to Janet Adams – address 2094 Marian Way, Costa mesa, 92627.
Coastline Gallery has invited us to have a booth at their annual Christmas Gift Sale in December 2013. We are told that the exhibit space may be greatly enlarged at their beautiful new building in Newport Beach.

IMPORTANT: SCA dues are $25 before March 1st; and $35 thereafter. Contact Thom Wright.
