My work has evolved from my sketchbooks where I draw images, memories, feelings, and life in suburban California.
I like to use a flow of consciousness and often don't know what I will paint until I have the canvas in front of me. I like to depict: track homes, domestic still lifes, landscapes of suburbia, fabricated personal icons, proverbs, truisms, and fortune cookie proverbs. I often use the rose as a personal symbol of hope and promise.
Working with acrylics and mixed media watercolors I hope the work evokes a felt response from the viewer and communicates the mystery behind it all.
