January 16, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Due to more restrictive COVID rules at the Emerald Court, we are moving the meeting to the great outdoors: Heritage Park by the Irvine Fine Arts Center. Bring your own chair, and maybe a card table if you have one along with your art.

We had a good get-together last month! Let's continue and start the new year off and get back into the swing of making and sharing art!

We need new officers, and membership renewals are $40. Per year.

Hi everyone

We realized that everyone was overloaded with holiday schedules and we hadn't give you enough time, when we hadn't received many rsvps for the gift exchange. So we decided it would be best to cancel our party for tomorrow afternoon. I hope that everyone enjoys their holidays this year.

Blessings for the new year!

Thanks, Sharon Kump

Hi SCA Members!

I hope you had a great summer. I want to apologize for disappearing for most of that time. I was rescuing kittens from the coyotes at the park and working toward getting them adopted when I, unfortunately, took some kittens from another location who were sick, and then everyone got sick. It has been a busy summer, needless to say. I am glad to announce we have an SCA meeting scheduled for November 3 at Desiree Engel's residence to explore some possibilities of collaboration between our two groups, 57 Underground and SCA.

Desiree explains:

"57 UNDERGROUND' is an artist co-op established 35 years ago by students graduating from CSUF. We had galleries in two Fullerton locations, then the rent was doubled overnight and we continued as an artist group, very much like SCA, showing our work in different venues. Two years later we had the opportunity to open a gallery in Pomona which moved several times to different locations in downtown Pomona.

We are a Public Benefit Corporation C4. Our focus is on showing our own contemporary work as well as offering show opportunities to other emerging artists. As a non-profit, we also have the obligation to do something each year to benefit the general population.

We have now lost our gallery space and are trying different ways to continue our activities, but also to expand our scope and try different things. Since I am a long-time SCA member, and thus quite familiar with how SCA operates, I feel that there might be a possibility of some sort of collaboration of our two entities to our mutual benefit.

We are scheduling a meeting for members of both organizations on November 3rd at my residence, Emerald Court in Anaheim to discuss various possibilities. Please respond to Sharon Kump or Janet Adams with CC to me, indicating whether you would be able to attend this meeting."

I hope everyone can make it to the meeting so we can hear diverse viewpoints.

The meeting is scheduled for 11:30 in the activity room. Emerald Court is located at 1731 W. Medical Center Dr.
