The High Desert Arts & Literary Festival September 8 & 9

The High Desert Arts and Literary Festival is calling for artists and artisans of original fine art works to exhibit and sell at its first annual show September 8th and 9th at the Victor Valley Museum in Apple Valley, California.
The Festival is presented by the American Association of University Women (Victor Valley branch), the San Bernardino County Museum, the High Desert Chapter of the California Writers Club, and the San Bernardino County Library.
Proceeds will benefit science, technology, education and math (STEM) programs, and community college scholarships.
SCA artists Ron Howlett and Thom Wright will be showing their recent art works at the Sunset Beach Art Gallery. This weekend all-media show is part of the Sunset Beach Art Festival held annually on Mother’s Day weekend, coming up on May 13 and 14, 10 am to 5 pm. Ron will be showing several watercolors, and Thom will be showing several of his figurative monotypes from his latest series entitled “Jazz Combo”. This event is sponsored by the “Las Damas” Women’s Club of Sunset Beach, and raises funds donated to local educational groups.

Curated by Louis Jacinto, whose work has been continuously exhibited in the Southern California area since 1980, and in the last decade he has also focused on showcasing other artists via his periodic publication of onodream Magazine: One Artist, One Conversation, Here/There will be his contribution to The Getty Initiative Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA 2017. Curator and art historian Kene J. Rosa will be the exhibition’s co-curator.
