Lately I am doing sketchbook drawings of natural settings around my home, and will show 12 of these beginning October 1st for three months at the Back Bay Muth Center in Newport Beach. If you get a chance to go visit the center, it is in a beautiful wild area not far from the beach. It is off Irvine Ave at University.
JANET INEZ ADAMS, MFA
I am searching for the sacred in every day, and finding it with the help of color and shape.
Sometimes my dog and I walk in the Back Bay, and I notice the changes in the seasons and weather, and the activities of the wildlife. Birds are my favorites. I carry a clipboard, archival papers, and some Portfolio Crayons that dissolve in water. Later in my studio I finish each image by adding water and other colors. When I was a teenager I began working with images of Nature, and still I am inspired by what is revealed. firstname.lastname@example.org http://janetadams.typepad.com
On Sunday, September 28, 2014 at the Jabulani Studio for Yoga, there was a reception for artist Janet Inez Adams. Eight paintings from her Haiku Poetry Series were on display, and Janet gave a synopsis of how yoga and visualizations are linked in her imagery. From 7:30pm to 9:00pm following the reception there was live music, crystal bowls played by Jill Manly, and a gentle yoga session. Jabulani Studio is at 2711 East Coast Highway in Corona del Mar, 92625 (near Sherman Gardens). www.jabulaniyoga.com
SCA member Thom Wright has been accepted to the IFAC All Media 2014 show at the Irvine Fine Art Center. Three of his “Earth Tree” series are included.
The opening reception is on Saturday, Sept. 20, 4-6 pm.
The show continues through Nov 4.
The IFAC is located at 14321 Yale Avenue, Irvine, CA.
SCA is happy to announce that Thom Wright is one of about 90 artists participating in the First Annual Food, Fine Art and Music Festival of Huntington Beach.
As in many communities across the USA, art shows are evolving into weekend cultural art events. This one is hosted near the Hyatt Resort and Hotel at Beach Blvd. and Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach. This fine art event has no crafts, has classic rock music of the 60’s and 70’s, and is in collaboration with the Huntington Beach Art Center, of which I am a member. Thom will be selling his recent paintings (see example above of one of his “jazz guitar abstracts” series), and in competition with many, many others. And there are greater enjoyments of the day with options for sampling the best of local restaurants and entertainment by many old-time rock and roll bands and singers. A big turnout is expected from their heavy media advertising for its opening success.
As yet, Thom does not have a booth assignment, but it will have a sign on the top of a white canopy: Thom Wright Fine Art
